SL-based researcher accuses Akshay Kumar of copying his life story in ‘Ram Setu’

Ramayana Research Committee Sri Lanka Department Head Dr. Ashok Kainth is accusing Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar of copying his research work and life story in the new film about Adam’s Bridge that connects Sri Lanka and India, and this could put Ram Setu in legal trouble.

The movie was released on 25 October, and has received mixed reviews. Now Dr. Kainth is claiming Ram Setu, starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev, is based on his story, but that the creators neither asked for his permission, nor credited him in the movie. Dr. Kainth added that certain scenes in the movie hurt religious sentiments.

“If no one will listen to me, then I will approach the court,” Dr. Ashok Kainth added.
