Elevate together with The Voice by Ishan De Lanerolle present
Vithma and Eksath, and featuring guest artiste, Tharushi!
Eksath De Alwis, aged 21, Vithma Kumarage, 20 and Tharushi Mendis, 17 are needless to say, a very high-achieving bunch of young, go-getters.
Showing up at The Morning office for a quick interview, these three youngsters really shone in terms of their individual personalities and styles. The fact that at their age, they are hosting a concert is truly remarkable.
Meeting each other at The Voice, these three friends are extremely passionate towards music and are looking forward to making great strides in the Sri Lankan music industry. The Voice is a unique concept, which started around two years ago and was pioneered by Ishan De Lanerolle, where students mostly averaging between the ages of 13 to 30, spend time to hone and polish their singing abilities and style with the guidance of the De Lanerolle brothers. Once a senior student, Ishan De Lanerolle, in a very ‘fairy-godmother’ manner, pushes them to have their own independent concerts and become fully-fledged stars.
Vithma says,
“It was all Uncle Ishan’s push and belief in us that gave us the courage to do this concert and strive for a career in music.”
“This concert will be a first for a student from The Voice as well and we will be actualising a great vision that he once had for The Voice and for the music industry in Sri Lanka,” says Eksath.
Involved in music and pursuing their passion for singing from a very young age, whether through a heavy involvement at church or simply through jamming with their friends on the weekends, the three young stars have a variation of personal styles, which we will be able to witness live at the sundown concert. Ranging from Eksath belting out the classics and the oldies, Vithma with her soulful voice and love for R&B and three feature pop songs by Tharushi, we sure are in for a treat.
Vithma and Eksath will be hosting their concert at Access Towers on 09 September, 2018. The event will start with a networking session over drinks, as you take in the sunset and the view at the Access Towers rooftop, 6.15 p.m. onwards. The show will start at 7.15 p.m. on the 28th floor.
