Leading couture brand, “Indi” by Indi Yapa recently put on a spectacular fashion show at the Colombo Municipal Council. Bringing together a celebration of fashion, design, diversity, history, and culture, “Aarya by Indi” was a stunning bridal and evening wear collection, put together entirely by Indi.

The Aarya collection embodied a sense of heritage, and was heavily inspired by the ancient paintings and architecture of Sri Lanka. With over 50 styles, the collection ranged from bridal and ethnic wear to sarees and western wear. Each individual piece featured the hand-drawn prints, powerful statement pieces, inclusive outfits, and meticulously handcrafted textures for which the brand Indi is known.

As the designer, Indi exclaimed that she was honoured and excited to put together a fashion show of this grandeur through her brand “House of Indi” to showcase her couture collection single-handedly.

“The entire fashion show comprises my designs alone – we worked tirelessly to organise this event and I hope we delivered through the designs.”

Here’s a glimpse at some of the highlights of the evening.
