The Aviyana Private Chalets Complex project is prepared to open its doors on a grand scale next year. The hotel plans to marvel guests with a seven-star experience for the first time in Sri Lanka. Situated upon the summit of a 2,600-foot-high rock in Udispattuwa, Kandy, Aviyana Private Chalets Complex will lack nothing of the country’s natural beauty and the comforts of super luxurious hotels in the world.

The hotel complex is inclusive of 60 luxurious chalets of 16 types, designed individually to serve the needs of its customers. The interior of all 60 chalets is designed with modern architecture in mind and adorned with the most elegant equipment and decorations imported from various countries in the world. The chalets are composed of gold and silver-plated marble, super-class furniture and super-luxury bathrooms with bathware imported from Italy and Germany.

Most of them are gold-plated and bedecked with gems. Each chalet has a private hot-water pool and a smart home system to offer the best experience for clients while securing their privacy.

In conversation with The Morning Brunch, Aviyana Private Chalets Complex Manager Indika Hewawasam noted that one of the main reasons Sri Lanka doesn’t attract tourists with an extravagant budget is that the country has nothing luxurious to offer.

“The reason we decided on the creation of this hotel is so we can offer an authentic luxurious hotel experience to these types of tourists.”

Speaking further on how the hotel stands out from its other five-star competitors, he noted that the hotel is very keen on the health of its clientele and thus every possible measure is taken to ensure the hygiene of the chalets. They also provide the opportunity for clients to order personalised packages which include the replacement of each piece of equipment in the chalets with brand-new ones, which is something no hotel in Sri Lanka offers.

Currently, Aviyana Private Chalets aims to attract high-class tourists such as world-famous actors, singers, sports figures, businessmen, and so forth by providing the privacy and high-end services they seek.

“This project is going to have an enormous impact on our economy, especially because of the financial crisis we are in. In the future, we have estimated that the hotel, once fully functional, will serve 10% of the economy when it comes to tourism,” he stated.

Sri Lanka is considered to be a much-sought-after tourist destination in the world and was even recently recognised as one of the best countries to visit for wellness tourism.

“Even with all this, the profit we earn as a country is significantly less than what other tourism-based countries like ours earn,” Hewawasam noted. To cater to this niche, Aviyana has created a special arrangement with the construction of a meditation and yoga centre. The hotel will even provide guests the chance to study Buddhism and be temporarily ordained as monks if they so wish.

“We want to share the ancient spiritual wisdom that our precious island has to offer, and at the same time, help Sri Lanka make its mark as one of the top-ranking wellness tourism sectors in the world,” he said.

The hotel has major plans in terms of bringing in tourism to Sri Lanka and hopes to get a start on them as soon as it opens its doors.
