Inidi Leisure enhances the beachside stay with elegance and luxury

Inidi Leisure, located along the coast of Wadduwa, which is just over an hour away from Colombo, adds elegance and luxury to your beachside vacation, mixing the simplicity of a relaxing holiday by the ocean with the comforts of attentive staff and delectable dishes.

Located on Beach Road, Wadduwa, the property is ideal for a beachside stay, as it is a quick drive from the capital, but still takes one away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Beachfront location

The property, owned by Nalin Samarawickrama, consists of two almost-identical villas standing tall next to each other. Both Villa Ini and Villa Dia can each accommodate eight guests, and each villa has four deluxe bedrooms, two of which have jacuzzis. The rooms come with the usual amenities and are large, comfortable, and spacious.

Each villa also has its own infinity pool with a baby pool, a modern kitchen, and a dining room. The outdoor dining area and living room with a home cinema system are ideal for friends or family to gather for a chat, while the sunbeds let you relax close to the ocean.

The villas are ideal for single-group occupancy, lending sufficient privacy, but can also be used together for larger groups.

From the attentiveness shown to the decorative elements to the seamless service, Inidi Leisure aims at providing guests with the luxury beach villa experience reminiscent of the finest hotels. The staff is dedicated and professional, catering to one’s every need, and consists of a butler, chef, housekeeping, gardener, pool person, maintenance, and security.

The architecture and interior set the tone of each room and create elegant spaces that are warm and welcoming. While the property envelopes one in a quiet and private space, the outside world isn’t too far in the distance, with the villas located right on the Wadduwa beach, giving guests a glimpse of the local fishing community.

Inidi Leisure also allows guests to choose from a variety of excursions like water sports and whale watching, all provided by reputed operators.

Food

There is no argument that food is a deciding factor in a guest’s experience at a villa, and Inidi Leisure has understood this well. Guests can have a look at the extensive menu on the website prior to making a reservation, and the menu consists of breakfast options like regional delights (Sri Lankan, Indian, far eastern, wonton noodle soup, and egg fried rice), guilty pleasures (Belgian waffles, French toast, and American-style pancakes), as well as curd, muesli, and oatmeal porridge.

The lunch and dinner menu includes starters like the Wadduwa ceviche and lemon pepper crispy squid, snacks like the Negombo fish and chips, seafood mains like tiger prawns, mud crab, and the daily catch, and a variety of chicken dishes. Guests need not worry about meals for kids, since the menu includes mac and cheese, chicken tenders, fish fingers, thick-cut fries, and mashed potato.

Our one-night stay at Inidi Leisure began with lunch. The cream of vegetable soup came with buttery croutons and flavourful garlic chips, which elevated the soup both in terms of texture and flavour. While a warm soup on a warm afternoon may not seem like the best idea, it didn’t take long for us to empty our bowls.

Even a traditional rice and curry at Inidi Leisure goes beyond the usual, both in terms of variety and taste. The lunch spread consisted of steamed basmati coupled with chicken and mushroom, coriander-flavoured fish, tempered dhal, potato badum, curried fried drumsticks, brinjal moju, mukunuwenna mallum, vegetable cutlets, prawn crackers, and mango chutney. The meal was an excellent start to the time spent at Inidi, as the flavours were excellent, and was followed by a choice of vanilla ice cream or curd and treacle for dessert.

Seafood took centre stage during dinner, with a prawn and avocado salad followed by a roasted pumpkin soup, and then grilled mullet on a bed of mashed potato and spinach, accompanied by a garlic cream sauce. The passion fruit cheesecake that was the night’s dessert was light and tangy, and made for a great end to the meal.

The breakfast spread was once again Sri Lankan, with a selection of milk rice, string hoppers, and roti with accompaniments, along with eggs done to one’s preference, bread, fresh fruit juice and a fruit platter.

While the meals left us content and full, it can be said that Inidi Leisure knows what they are doing in the kitchen, and a breakfast with a view of the ocean brought our stay there to a perfect end.

Memorable experience

Whether you are holidaying with friends or family, Inidi Leisure will do its best to provide a memorable experience to its guests. A longer stay would make the property feel more like home, with its earthy tones, multiple balconies and terraces, and various amenities, and it has positioned itself as the ideal option for any high-end traveller looking for a luxury villa by the coast.
