Baked is the newest addition to the café scene in Colombo, and the place specialises particularly in coffee and desserts. However, they also offer a number of savoury items.
The café, located on 37A, Elibank Road, Colombo 5, opened its doors to the public on 27 December 2019.
Baked takes pride in their coffee as they serve premium quality coffee – Mokasirs, a popular Italian coffee bean that is not very common in Sri Lanka. This allows them to truly offer their customers a unique experience in an attempt to successfully set themselves apart from the hoard of competition around Colombo.
They have a savoury menu with a selected bunch of munchies, as they call it. The “munchies” consisted of various bite-sized baked goods and also items such as pasta, panini, pizza, etc. The management at Baked insists that the prices are all highly reasonable, especially as they don’t have to worry about taxes or VAT (for the moment!), and in our observation, their seafood carbonara being priced at Rs. 750 sounds pretty
The venue is quite lovely with an open space arrangement incorporating natural light, with a gorgeous mural adorning the majority of its interior walls. The café is spacious and due to its secluded location, it is perfect for families and friends to come and enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and some good conversation.
