- A look at spooky Halloween events taking place over the weekend
Colombo’s vibrant nightlife ensures the weekend doesn’t slip away without great entertainment and attractive deals, but this weekend, it is turning up the eerie ahead of Halloween, which falls on 31 October.
If you are looking for a place to be, especially with your friends, the following places have special Halloween events taking place this weekend, and the good news is that most places encourage costumes!
Night of Vampires
Zouk Colombo promises its patrons Colombo’s biggest Halloween DJ night, featuring Sash, Neco, Nish on Sax, Avantha, Electro Doctors, DJ Waruna, and DJ Ghost. Tomorrow (29), Zouk Colombo will come alive for a night of vampires from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Thriller
“Strictly costumes or beware” is the warning LIV Colombo gives, as it holds its first Halloween party tomorrow. While reservations can be made beforehand, LIV Colombo invites you to join them if you dare from 10 p.m. onwards.

Halloween Costume Competition
Think you have the best Halloween costume this year? Well, why not win an amazing prize for it by taking part in the Halloween costume competition being held by Ibsons Choice Café on Sunday (30)? Head over to the café between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and don’t forget to vote for your favourites on their social media pages on 1 November.

Graveyard
Complete with a DJ, Halloween treats, and fun games, Graveyard 2022 by the Leo Club of Colombo Millennium will take place on Sunday. The event begins at 4 p.m. and the organisers promise that attendees can dance their Halloween night away at the Lions Activity Centre.

Anime Meetup
If you want to start your Halloween celebrations earlier in the day, Anime.lk is having a meetup tomorrow at Blackout from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees are free to dress up in their favourite costumes in the spirit of Halloween.

Incarnation
Incarnation has just one rule – no costume, no entrance – so get your spook on for the runway show and after-party organised by the Rotaract Club of Colombo East in collaboration with the Interact Clubs of Ananda College, Gateway College Colombo and Nalanda College. Make your way to Royal MAS Arena at 6 p.m. tonight (28) for a Halloween party with a twist.

Hallow’s Eve
If you are looking for killer music, a haunting vibe, and an atmosphere to die for, Darley Road Pub and Restaurant is the place to be tomorrow. Stigmata will be presenting “The Rocktober Sessions: Volume 2” that night, and in addition to Stigmata, the line-up for Hallow’s Eve includes Sanjeev Niles, Ashen Sandaru, Trishira, and Sevexth.

Lost Souls
As the night awakens on Saturday, all lost souls are invited to The Love Bar, where patrons are dared to walk on the dark side. The night will be brought alive by Ace, Trev, Sash, Henricus, Dinil, and Lunatics.

The Killer Room
The Chiller Room turns into the killer room today and tomorrow, where the scariest Halloween party in town is taking place. Costumes are not only encouraged, but the best and scariest costume will also win a prize. In addition to spooky drinks, deals, face painting and a horror house, DJ Macintyre from the US, Dr. Green, Banu, Josh, Mercue, and Kyze will keep everyone on their feet.

CASA Halloween
Head on over to Asylum Restaurant and Lounge Bar tomorrow to see rave yards turn into graveyards with DJ Mari Ferrari and DJ Diego Miranda, as well as The Slipping Chairs.

Halloween Night
Party your way into Halloween and next Monday (31) at De Artemis Café Gallery and Pub, which promises a Halloween Night that starts at 7 p.m. on Sunday and doesn’t end until 3 a.m. the following day. According to the organisers, werewolves will howl, vampires will bite, and witches will brew! While limited tickets are available for the event, attendees will be treated to music by Dixxa, Noiz X, and Heavenly Lost.

Rocking Halloween
Playtrix invites all patrons to celebrate a rocking Halloween with The Slipping Chairs tonight (28). Head on over to what is one of Colombo’s favourite sports bars, as the Halloween celebrations will take place from 8 p.m. onwards. Tickets include spooky drinks and Halloween cookies.
