Their Maharagama branch, run by Managing Director Anuruddha Wijerathne, was initiated upon his deep-rooted family values, emotional intelligence and passion to bring people together. His empathy and easy-going personality and his in-laws, the founders of the Lady J chain J.G. Sumanapala and Dharmalatha Akuregoda with their longstanding customer-centric business approach, aided in turning a newly opened store to a much talked about success and has the public flocking to the outlet.

Wijerathne touched on their company policy, that his father-in-law who is the Chairman of Lady J, is very big on: “Do not buy things you don’t need.” This policy is imposed firmly at Lady J, where customers are never pressured into buying products that they do not require, and instead show the best of what they need. Many tend to overspend, especially during the Christmas season, but if you shop at Lady J, they’ll ensure you don’t go overboard and buy products you don’t need! The salespeople are quite friendly and approachable and happy to help with any inquiry the customer may have.
