Meera Facewash: A range rooted in tradition

Celebrating the contemporary Sri Lankan woman, Meera face wash was recently introduced to the local market. Meera face wash is aimed at modern young women of Sri Lanka who hold a strong belief in traditional practices and natural ingredients.

Meera is one of the flagship brands of CavinKare, which has for years been delivering strong and healthy hair to their customers through their portfolio of shampoo, herbal powder, coconut oil, herbal oil, conditioner, and hair wash paste, stressing on wholesome health for hair.

CavinKare Brand Manager Neethu Jose

Brunch had a chat with CavinKare Brand Manager Neethu Jose, who told us that the face wash will provide functional solutions to any common skin problems. The face wash has three options available: Red Sandal – for soft skin, Neem and Tea Tree – for pimple-clear skin, and Wild Turmeric – for clear skin.

Sharing with us the inspiration behind Meera face wash, Jose said that since today’s young women are well-read, and they understand the importance of healthy skin and have a holistic view of how healthy skin is beautiful skin, they understand the scientific literature that supports these natural ingredients rather than following it naively.

She also informed us that Meera derives its strengths from deep understanding of traditional Indian practices and giving it to consumers in easy-to- use contemporary formats.

Elaborating on this topic, Jose told us that the brand has a unique combination of natural actives mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic textbooks. “It includes a very special product which is salicyclic acid – free acne treatment face wash. It helps to remove 99.9% of acne-causing bacteria using prebiotic technology,” she explained, adding that the range of face wash is soap-free, sulphate-free, paraben-free, and is milder on the skin.

Speaking about the South Indian context, Jose told us that Meera is renowned as an inexpensive and effective product, so it is a much favoured brand amongst Indians.

“Meera evokes immense respect from both consumers and retailers, which only a few other brands can claim, and is one of the trusted household brands of South India as well as international markets,” she added.

In conversation with CavinKare Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal Business Head – Personal Care Arun Chacko, he said that with the launch of Meera Face Wash, they hope to add to the hugely successful Meera portfolio of shampoos. He too touched on why traditional ingredients are the base of their products. “With this, we intend to enhance the richness of tradition that Meera as a brand has been offering to the Sri Lankan populace over the years.”
