NZSL Dance Studio Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Dance Instructor Nishi Ranathunga has been crowned Mrs. Woman of the Universe New Zealand 2022, making her eligible to represent New Zealand at the Mrs. Universe pageant.
She took part in the competition representing Auckland, and has also won Best Female Model 2022 and Best Social Media Icon 2022 (Asia Pacific Bollywood Factors) in New Zealand. Ranathunga is a teacher by profession and taught at Vidura College, Asian International School, and Musaeus College in Sri Lanka before moving to New Zealand.
She is a mother of a four-year-old daughter and considers her family a symbol of togetherness. Ranathunga is also involved in the Auckland Women’s Refuge and the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, as well as domestic violence prevention campaigns. She is also the founder of the NZSL Dance Studio.
