Park Street Mews launches new menu

Looking forward and moving beyond the turmoil of the last few months, the ever-popular Park Street Mews Restaurant is launching a delightful new menu to wow its customers.

“We are mindful of these challenging times we are presently going through, but on a positive note, we are introducing a fresh, varied, and exciting menu to suit everyone’s taste and offer a delightful twist to the ordinary,” said the Harpo’s Managing Director, Harpo Gooneratne.

The new menu combines fresh ingredients with a wide variety of flavours, and mixes traditional Park Street Mews Restaurant delicacies with exciting new dishes.

The new menu by Chef Kamal takes diners on a culinary journey inspired by a mix of Asian and western flavours with an emphasis on accompaniments, dips, sauces, and the presentation of food, providing an artistic, fresh look with a modern western-Asian twist.

The starters offer fresh fruits and vegetables; Asian specials with Vietnamese paper rolls with bean curd; ever-popular chicken liver pâté accompanied with citrus, berry chutney, and apple; and prawns with marinated shaved coconut and quail egg with a tangy cocktail sauce.

The salad range includes low-carb and healthy options with chickpea, bean curd, yoghurt, mint, and coriander salad; Camembert cheese with apple purée; and a fruity watermelon, avocado with tofu and basil salad.

The main dishes are bold and cross-cultural. For meat lovers, the western favourites feature beef tenderloin with the classic Dijon mustard and cognac butter sauce, oven-roast pork medallion with honey mustard and poached apple, and grilled lamb chop. Seafood dishes include new flavours with grilled salmon with creamy coconut and tamarind sauce as well as seared tuna with Sri Lankan herb sauce.

The fresh pasta ranges from a choice of homemade Italian sauces and the butternut squash ravioli requires special mention, as it is a unique dish to the Park Street Mews Restaurant.

Going local, the Sri Lankan rice and curry with a choice of seafood, meat, and fish with traditional vegetable accompaniments are served for lunch and dinner.

The menu provides an array of light meals with a selection of sandwiches and wraps with smoked salmon, prawn, and avocado on rye sourdough sandwich; beef baguette with mushroom; sizzling smoky beef burger; wok-fried chilli beef with yoghurt and coriander wrap; and a choice of vegetarian options for non-meat eaters.

The dessert range, curated by the invaluable pastry chef, offers decadent confections like peach and blueberry Pavlova, rhubarb cheesecake, maple sugar pumpkin pie, and red velvet cake, artistically presented to make the experience that much more indulgent.

As ever, the Park Street Mews Restaurant complements its diverse menu with a wide selection of fresh fruit juice, fine wine, and premium liquor to give its customers a warm and enjoyable dining experience.
