Colombo’s Middle Eastern cuisine scene is quite niche, but growing nonetheless. The latest addition to the stretch of restaurants at Park Street Mews is Chambers, and they offer you a take on a spread of some authentic Middle Eastern dishes!
- Serious décor goals
The minute you set foot into Chambers, you instantly know you’re in for a real ride. The décor is exquisite, intricate and all round beautiful! Moroccan glasswork adorns the walls, paired with Turkish light fittings and traditional metal-work tea pots.
- Incredible Moroccan Mint Tea
Moroccan mint tea is generally very refreshing and this tea was just that. A bonus was that it was served in an authentic, intricate teapot with beautiful glasses almost the size of some shot glasses. The Moroccan Tea at Chambers is enough for two to sip throughout a meal. Very economical for Rs. 300!
- Fluffy Arabic Flatbread
The Flatbread at Chambers is straight out of a fairytale – incredibly soft, fluffy and perfect when paired with their classic Hummus or when made into Meat Arayes (pockets of flatbread loaded with meat and cheese).
- Tagines done right
If anyone knows how to do up a good tagine, it’s Chambers. We tried their Mutton and Chickpea Tagine and words cannot do justice as to how incredibly flavourful this dish is!
Chambers at Park Street Mews is definitely shaping Colombo’s restaurant scene, serving up authentic Middle Eastern dishes, true to taste and culture.
We’re recommending the Meat Arayes because it’s the best gain for your buck and was easily one of the best dishes we’ve ever tried!
