By Venessa Anthony

Aside from spending her time running her digital media company, 25-year-old Kavindi Athapattu also works on her food and travel-related website, travel for food.blog, dedicated to travel enthusiasts and foodies all over the world.

With inflation soaring, going out to eat has become a luxury, and she was the obvious choice to ask where one could find the best restaurants that give you value for money. Here are her top three picks.

Graze Kitchen

Graze Kitchen, located at Hilton Colombo, has a huge variety of food from almost every cuisine imaginable. Be Australian, Japanese, Thai – whatever you’re craving will be available at this feast of food.

Plates

Plates, a buffet restaurant at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, is all about experiences. Once you walk into the restaurant, a culinary tour of global cuisine like no other awaits you in a single alfresco dining or contemporary sleek interior venue.

The very cosy, low-lit ambience also makes it the perfect spot for your next date night. The interior is nothing over the top – and is a great environment to enjoy some warm, delicious food. Go ahead and grab a plate!

The Dining Room

The Dining Room at Cinnamon Lakeside is the perfect spot to indulge in an array of international cuisines, as each of them tempts you into filling the plate and forgetting your diet. One can start with a decadent mix of different kinds of cheese, if you’re measuring your meal in courses and not in calories.

Take your time, stop by counters to select your cuisine of the day, or pick an eclectic assortment. Right from local food like kottu roti and the Indian rajma chawal to the Italian gnocchi and the Chinese wontons and dumplings, there are enough options to eat to your heart’s content.

Finish off with your choice of dessert from a massive variety to please your taste buds.
