Western Breeze sweeps through Marine Drive again

The Western Breeze Festival once again brought large crowds to Marine Drive, with the latest phase of the food festival organised by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board held on 17 and 18 December in Colombo 3.

Sri Lankan flavours were in the spotlight over the weekend, with street food like wade, potato spirals, and corn on the cob filling the air with rich aromas. Similar to the previous Western Breeze Festival held on 11 and 12 November, seafood was the star of the weekend, as visitors could try anything from fish to prawns to crab prepared in different ways.

In addition to the wide array of food and drinks, Western Breeze also had a variety of entertainment acts, with a speciality being the screening of the FIFA World Cup final on Sunday (18).

Last Saturday (17), Octave took the stage as one of the festival’s music acts, with Kingdom taking the stage the following day. Visitors were also treated to cultural acts, firework displays, art and craft stalls, and raffle draws.
